I have been very slow to blog, but here it is. Only my second pair of socks for the summer of Socks, but now they are done. Have done lots of singles but only pairs count for this one.
I think I like the garter stitch toe and heel the best, very comfy and easy to do.

Summer of Socks

I have joined the Summer of Socks 2007. Starting tomorrow and until Sept 2007, our summer season, I will compete with all the other members in all sorts of competitions, including, making the most socks. I am hoping to get a lot of socks done, as I have joined a couple of sock clubs lately and need to get going making them.
I'm still a newbie at this blog thing so I will try to put in some buttons and other links as I go along.

You are Strength

Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.

This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.

Socks that Rock Club

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Socks that Rocks Feb kit from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. Many members from the US have received their packages and have probably finished their socks by now. International members have to wait a bit longer, something we are getting used to doing, not much we can do about it anyway. I will attempt to put some links on my blog, but am having trouble with this new format, wish me luck.
No way can I put an image on this post. I can find the file on my computer, upload it to their page but there is no place to say 'ok' to actually do it. When I go to help they tell me that I need to open an account elsewhere on the web in order to load images, this is way tooo much for me, sorry I am technically challenged to do this, would rather be knitting that wasting hours trying to search out websites and images.

Spin to Knit Exchange

A long time since my last post. The baby is now 7 months old, a beautiful girl.
I have joined the Spin to Knit exchange and have sent off my skein to a very creative French Canadian living in Montreal.
Yesterday I received my package from my upstream pal. Two great skeins, one chocollat brown, the other a bright red. Also in the package were 2 large balls of roving, the same colour. If that wasn't enough she also sent a neat little book she created herself. It is a lab book, designed to keep track of my spinning. Very nicely done.
And it turns out she is also a published author of a knitting book, Naughty Knits, yes it is Nikol Lohr.
I have tried to put up some links and pictures but am having a lot of trouble even posting this. This is my 4th attempt today. wish me luck
